Our guides summarize Costa Rica immigration pathways in plain language and link to the official sources used. We use the Dirección General de Migración y Extranjería, Costa Rican government and consular resources, official legislation, and program-specific government guidance.

Information has a review date

The initial guide collection was reviewed on September 29, 2026. We show source links so you can check the current version. An article review is editorial research; it is not a claim of attorney review or a guarantee that an agency has not changed its instructions.

When sources disagree

Government summaries, legislation, and application instructions can differ. Material discrepancies should be confirmed with the responsible authority before you rely on a figure or instruction. We avoid filling gaps with invented amounts, processing times, or promises.
