Key requirements

• An acceptance letter from the host explaining duties and dates.
• Evidence of the educational or volunteer purpose.
• Funding, insurance and identity records as required.
• Any provisional visa and in-country documentation required for the program.

What this pathway offers

• A defined permission for an approved placement.

Important limitations

• Calling an activity volunteering does not automatically make tourist entry sufficient.
• Paid internships and technical placements need an assessment of the correct category.

How the process generally works

• Confirm the correct category and current checklist for your circumstances.
• Prepare the evidence, legalizations and Spanish translations required for your case.
• Submit through the applicable consulate or DGME procedure and respond to requests.
• After approval, complete the documentation and insurance steps in the resolution.
